Position Description:
As part of the Data Asset Development Team, this role will be an enabler of our journey to be the world’s leading data-driven retailer. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an individual who will be responsible for gathering business data and conducting analysis which will guide the creation of our data asset inventory. This process will support the optimization of our ongoing efforts to drive scalable and predictable execution of Data Governance and Enablement activities. In this role, you will drive value through all omni-channel organizations and third-party partners, creating transparency across our data assets.

Key relationships will exist across our business partners, Data Governance, Data Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams as well as our third party consultants. This will help ensure we are aligned on the capabilities needed to maintain accuracy and reconciliation of data assets across the organization. Through close communication and collaboration, this position will be results oriented and be a key contributor to the success of the data strategy.

The Analyst, Data Inventory Asset Development will report to the Director, Data Inventory and Stewardship.

We are looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, team-oriented individual to drive the analysis process around data ,product, process and reporting. You will be leading and supporting the analysis and implementation efforts using various tools and methodologies. You will also be involved in evolving the foundation of Walmart Data as a Strategic Asset, and responsible for curation of the data, and maintaining quality internal and external data assets.

The Analyst role will report to the Director, Data Inventory and Stewardship.

Key responsibilities:
- Work in a small, high performance agile team environment - sharing innovative ideas and working collaboratively across teams.
- Work with data engineers, stewards, quality engineers and product managers to ensure analysis best practices are designed and implemented proactively.
- Curate documentation and lead training sessions to facilitate end user support
- Collaborate across business community to inform and implement acquisition strategy
- Create resilient, and sustainable data analysis process and Data Quality Rules.
- Be a data-oriented analyst creating and experimenting with new ideas that will engage and excite our customers while ensuing product specific data acquisitions needs are delivered.

Who you are:
- You have prior experience with leading analysis of data and reporting efforts across a variety of large data systems
- You have deep understanding of internal and commercial data sources and understand database concepts and terminology
- You have a demonstrated track record of handling multiple complex sourcing projects and delivering results in the data analysis area
- You have strong reporting and SQL experience and the ability to validate multiple aspects of a data projects including ETL, tools integrations, conneting to various databases (relational,CRM/ERP, datalake), querying and analysing data results and APIs.
- You are a team player, with the courage to drive change through disruption while maintaining a respect for the team

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with data acquisition process and analysis of external vendor data
- Experience with data management and governance tools is preferred
- 5+ years of prior experience in data analysis using manual and tool-based methodologies
- 3+ year’s experience in generating reports using tools such as Tableau
- Strong understanding of data design techniques and principles
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Must be able to work effectively both on teams as well as be self-motivated, task oriented and organized.
- Strong customer focus and obsession with quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment
