Client's Portland office is seeking a talented Senior JS Engineer with a proven track record of building high quality scalable applications, with a strong sense of ownership and solid leadership abilities. In this role, you’ll work within a small “two-pizza” Scrum team as we build the next generation of a hosted Website. The front-end is mostly Electrode, while the backend leverages Node.js and a variety of persistence stores. The ideal candidate is comfortable working full-stack.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 yrs. of experience, or Master’s Degree with 3 yrs. of experience in Computer Science or related field 
  • Experience building scalable eCommerce applications 
  • Familiarity with Java and other related technologies that exist within the @client ecosystem 
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, operating systems, and resource utilization
  • Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS 3 
  • 5 or more year(s) experience with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), RESTful web services 
  • Self-motivated problem solver 
  • Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code is a plus
  • Ability to lead and coach junior engineers
  • Comfortable collaborating with engineers across the broader WalmartLabs team
