Overview of the Role:

 

Job Tittle- Solutions Architect

 Job Location: Menlo Park, CA ( Remote till COVID)



Responsibilities:

 

Gather Access and Core Functional Requirements

This aspect of the role requires working closely with the product team and partners to understand market expectations and requirements. The Solution Architect will have the responsibility to examine existing FBC solutions as well as 3rd party technologies to identify the most cost effective solution which meets the needs and timeframes of the market.

 

Develop Specifications

This will include working with FBC software/ hardware teams and 3rd party vendors to develop and document technical specifications, use cases, test plans, and project plans. The Solution Architect will identify potential issues between systems and client specifications and propose new solutions to work around these limitations. Candidate must have the ability to create specifications for API interfaces and supporting data models from RAN to element management systems (EMS) and network management systems (NMS) as well as supporting data models.

 

Determine Project Scope

The Solution Architect will determine a project’s scope and may conduct extra research on a client’s existing systems and configurations to determine whether added time and work is necessary to align the project with enterprise-level systems.

 

Lead Development Teams

The Solution Architect will direct and oversee the activities of the development team, ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development team, monitor timelines and progress to ensure that team members are adhering to these specifications and serve as a liaison between client-facing personnel and developers.

 

Interface Directly with Clients

The Solution Architect will meet regularly with clients to provide feedback and updates on development projects starting with initial conversations to determine project scope and specification to the final presentation of the connectivity solution.

 

Manage External Vendors

The Solution Architect will work with outside vendors to develop and implement specific aspects of the connectivity solution, considering costs and timelines to ensure that vendors meet deadlines for deliverables and project elements.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

● 12+ years of experience in a variety of disciplines related to cellular telecommunications solutions. This includes direct experience in end-to-end architectures including macro RAN, small cells, vRAN fronthaul, and EPCs.

● Hands-on experience with Openstack, VMware and containerized service deployments using Kubernetes.

● Experience with deploying popular COTS servers.

● Expertise in IP networking on commercial routers/switches along with Linux networking.

● Expertise in Mobile/Cellular Network Network Architecture (4G/5G), CBRS, neutral carrier host, various interface

    protocols mainly between RAN and core network.

● Experience interfacing directly with various levels of management

● Experience in delivering customer presentations and prepare customer-facing material such as RFP responses,

    proposals and network/system designs

● Expertise in packet core network including authentication, policy and charging control policies

● Expertise in OSS/BSS, NMS, EMS for Mobile/Cellular Infrastructure

● Expertise in various OAM interfaces, protocols, data models, configuration parameters, KPIs for RAN and Core Configuration and Management Preferred Qualifications:

● Exposure to testing and analyzing LTE air interface issues involving UE, eNB and Packet core

● Hands on knowledge of protocols such as S1AP, GTP, S1AP, S6a, NAS, Gx and Gy, etc

● Knowledge O-RAN OAM interfaces such as Netconf, Yang data model

 

Education Required

 

Master’s degree in engineering (EE, Networking, Telecommunication)
