Job Duties:
Accountable for analyzing and developing complex logical database designs, logical data models, and relational data definitions in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements.
Understands the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations.

An ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about discovering and solving complicated problems, learning complex systems, working with numbers, and organizing and communicating data and reports. The candidate should be interested in the e-commerce industry.

Key Responsibilities
Work with product, technology, and business teams to drive complex data and trend analyses to root cause issues and propose ways to improve the platform.
Responsible for defining, developing, and communicating key metrics and business trends to partner and management teams
Model data in order to create reporting and dashboards for business process management and data mining.
Pull data required to conduct business analysis, build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance.
Work with the stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.

Requirements
Strong understanding of math, statistics, calculus, and game theory
Previous work in optimization spaces like resource allocation, pricing, etc.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Technical expertise regarding data models, storage schema, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of SQL and Hive queries
Knowledge in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala)
Hands-on experience in accessing data from NoSQL storage is highly desirable. (CouchBase, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, R, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
Knowledge of JSON, XML would be a plus
Data visualization and reporting using at least one of Tableau, QlikView, or Pentaho
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Qualifications
6+ Years of experience in a relevant role
Experience in the retail industry would be a plus
